  PIE FAQ What if my vehicle is not listed in the current PIE appilication guide? It is not compatible with the current PIE product lines. It might be too new and research time is needed.
  PIE FAQ How do I know if my radio is CD-Changer ready? Look for identifiers, like disc Up/ Down buttons, CD button, mode button, etc.
  PIE FAQ The radio recognizes the CD-Changer interface but does not play? Make sure CDs are loaded properly, may require a reset (disconnect Neg. batt. terminal for 10 minutes) and try again.
  PIE FAQ Does PIE’s DPX Auxiliary input adapters require a slave unit? No, they are independent and will work alone.
  PIE FAQ My GM12-AUX does not switch between factory XM and My AUX input, what do I do? While the factory XM is playing, press the button SEEK UP once then SEEK DOWN once.
  PIE FAQ The application guide lists two different parts for my car, how do I know which part I need? Look at the LOCATION column it will describe Different style connections, find out which one Matches your vehicle (i.e. 20-pin connector at headunit or 13-pin DIN in trunk).
  PIE FAQ Will the satellite interfaces allow text to show on my factory radio? Only the GM (GM12) and Chrysler (CHRY02/PC-PIOX) parts will.
  PIE FAQ I have an existing CD Changer (external mounted) can I keep function of it if I use a DPX auxiliary input converter? No, the auxiliary input converter will take place of the CD Changer.
  PIE FAQ Does PIE offer an auxiliary input adapter which allows me to keep function of my external CD Changer? Yes, see the X3 application guide for your specific application.
  PIE FAQ If I add a DPX auxiliary input converter will I lose any of the built-in functions of the radio? No, the interface does not affect any of the radio functions and will work normally.
  PIE FAQ Can I use PIE parts to add a CD Changer and auxiliary audio input to my car? Yes, you will need a DPX plus protocol converter (for a CD Changer of your choice) see application guide and you will need to use the X3 system (for AUX input) see app guide for your vehicle.
  PIE FAQ Will the iPod interface allow me to control the iPod using my radio controls? Yes, Using the CD Changer control functions of your radio you will be able to select between 6 or 10 different playlists depending on how many CDs your radio can control.
  PIE FAQ Is a radio with a built-in 6-disc changer considered a “CD Changer” controlling radio? No, that is simply a 6-disc radio. A CD Changer controlling radio is one that can control an external mounted/slaved 6 or 10 disc changer.
  PIE FAQ Will the iPod interface display text on my radio display? No, it will only display list and song numbers.
  PIE FAQ What is a PIE protocol converter? It is a part which allows you to control an aftermarket CD Changer through the buit-in CD Changer control functions of your O.E (stock) radio.
  PIE FAQ Will the PIE auxiliary input adapter GM9-AUX work with the GM 1995-1999 AM/FM/CD radios with the 9-pin plug? No, the GM9-AUX requires CD Changer controls and 1995-1999 AM/FM/CD radios have no CD Changer capabilities. 2000 - 2002 AM/FM/CD radio will work.
  PIE FAQ What is an auxiliary audio input port? It’s an electronic device which utilizes an existing data port (such as CD Changer port) and converts it to an auxiliary-audio input.
  PIE FAQ My radio stopped recognizing the auxiliary input converter, what do I Do? Sometimes if a battery has been changed or if the vehicle has suffered from a dead battery, the converter and the radio may fall out of synchronization and will require disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal for about 10 minutes for a quick reset.
  PIE FAQ Do you have anything that works with Navigation? Yes, our GM12 interfaces will work with Class II Navigation radios (both touch-screen & non touch-screen versions). The Ford (FRD03) interfaces, will work with the 6-disc in-dash, touch-screen, THX certified Navigation radio.
  PIE FAQ Will the GM12/PC-PIOX or GM12/PC-KNNSR allow presets? Yes, the Pioneer interface will allow 6 presets (XM1 or XM2). The Kenwood interface will allow 12 presets (XM1 & XM2).
  PIE FAQ Can I use PIE parts to add a CD Changer and auxiliary Audio input to my car without having a separate switch? Yes, you’ll need a DPX plus protocol converter (for a CD Changer of your choice) see application guide.In addition you’ll need to use an aftermarket auxiliary input adapter. See aftermarket AUX parts.
  PIE FAQ Will the Kenwood KDC-C669 or KDC-C719 work with The GM9/PC-KNW or GM10/PC-KNW? No, These adapters will require the Kenwood changer equipped wit O-N switch next to eject button. C669, C719 & 469FM changers do not have the O-N switch.
  PIE FAQ I hooked up the ALP/AI-RCA or ALP/M-RCA to my Alpine Versatile Link Radio and my radio will not go into the AUX mode Please refer to the radio owners manual for step by step instructions on how to enable the AUX feature of your radio.
  PIE FAQ I hooked up the PIO/P-RCA to my P-BUS Pioneer radio And my radio will not go into AUX mode Please refer to the radio owners manual for step by step instructions on how to enable the AUX feature of your radio.
  PIE FAQ How do I know if my Alpine radio is AUX input capable? Your Alpine radio (AI-Net or M-Bus) need to have a feature called Versatile-Link. This feature allows the radio to switch the function of the CD Changer port to an auxiliary audio input (requires PIE part to convert CD Changer plug to RCA’s).
